Standing Room Only

What if we filled our churches the way we filled our stadiums?

Imagine hollering and shouting to worship our God the way we do our favorite sports team.

Imagine eagerly throwing our money in the basket the way we quickly place our next sports bet.

Imagine high fiving our neighbors when they overcome sin the way we do when our team scores.

Imagine shaking hands with our fellow Christian denominations at the start of a service, realizing that they are not the opposition: the devil is.

Imagine wearing clothing that honored the Lord the way we rep our favorite teams.

Imagine feasting and gathering with our family and friends weekly to root for the good guys – each other’s salvation.

Imagine if we started memorizing Bible verses the way we memorize plays and players.

Imagine if our churches became standing room only. What a world that would be!

Do you give God more attention than your favorite sports team? Player? Music artist? Do you study His word the same? Thank Him? Celebrate Him? Together, we can make church standing room only and heaven crowded. Each of us has the responsibility as Christians to spread the good news and invite others to learn about Jesus. Have you used the unique talents and gifts God gave you to evangelize this week?

“And he gave some as apostles, others as prophets, others as evangelists, others as pastors and teachers, to equip the holy ones for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the extent of the full stature of Christ, so that we may no longer be infants, tossed by waves and swept along by every wind of teaching arising from human trickery, from their cunning in the interests of deceitful scheming. Rather, living the truth in love, we should grow in every way into him who is the head, Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, with the proper functioning of each part, brings about the body’s growth and builds itself up in love.”
‭‭- Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭11‬-‭16‬ ‭
