It’s like I can’t find air.
That’s a phrase I spoke last week. Life has had its share of changes and curveballs this year and it’s admittedly weighed on me.
Later that same week,
- I prepared lunch for families in our Dayton community who are homeless.
- I played with the most joyful little boy who doesn’t have any toys of his own.
- I walked for little Amelia who died from malnutrition in Mozambique.
- I played in a volleyball tournament to raise funds to provide people in Rwanda access to clean water.
- I met with the team who will help build a home in Thailand for children being trafficked.
You don’t have to go far to find perspective, and I needed a dose of it.
Amazingly, each of these acts of service were organized by my company and coworkers. I am forever thankful to work for an organization that encourages service and continually makes me a better person both on and off the job.
Moreso, I am eternally grateful for coworkers who care about my physical, mental, and spiritual health. Coworkers who celebrated, laughed, cried, and prayed with me this week.
When you hear me shout from the rooftops why I love my job, this is it — the people, the service, and the love I have experienced is remarkable.
Today, I am grateful. I have all the air I need.
